My Garden Project

The project has certainly been an adventure. I really had to serach to find what plants I could plant since the temperatures for most of this month have overed in the 40 and 50 degree range. One of the first tips that the HGTV site gives is to test the PH in your soil. I have planted roses and other plants in the past with very little success. I have only recently discovered that you should get your soil tested. I found it interesting to learn that you can get it tested at your local County Extension office.

In digging up the soil i notice different types of clay and rock in the soil. I took a trowel and tried to space the plants 3 or 4 inches apart. The HGTV site says not to wet the soil. In the pictures you see here you will notice the dirt is dry. I did wet the soil after I put the plants in. I decided top plant a bell pepper and some cabbage plants. I heard the weather on WDAM was forecasting we would have another cold frost. In order to meet the project deadlines for this course I decided to put the plants in the soil now.

This first picture is wide shot of the plants after I had finished placing them in the soil.
